.. terasa gembira sekali. Syafiah macam nak chit-chatting semalam. Berborak riang. Mengadu sesuatu. That's enough to make me smile until today. Every achievement of a preemie with complication like her makes me so proud! Even a smile, a giggle or whatsoever.
Eventhough I've 1 girl + 1 boy before, I haven't counted their milestone like other moms. Seriously. Tapi dengan Syafiah amat berlainan sekali. Mungkin kerana kami telah melalui pahit sepahit hempedu itu sejak dari hari ketiga kelahirannya lagi. Pengalaman itulah yang membuatkan kami sentiasa teruja!
Counting her milestone is incomparable with other kids. Preemie has corrected age i.e. you've to minus the EDD with her born day. Meaning, the EDD is still her benchmark! Thus, the milestone of a preemie should be counted from there. If she's a hydrocephalic, it will double or triple the delay. The motor skills have to be assisted by physiotherapy sessions, either by appointments or initiatively by the parents. Give yourself spaces to attend the therapy sessions or DIY in order to help your daughter.
She's gaining and claiming her weight back. 2 minggu saya meninggalkannya untuk kembali ke dunia pekerjaan meninggalkan sedikit kekesalan pada diri saya. Saya tak salahkan sesiapa bila berat badannya menyusut hampir 700gm. Cuma agak terkejut. Kaki & tangan yang pejal menjadi sedikit kendur.
Di hospital baru kami tahu bahawa berat badannya menurun. Namun selepas op saya dapati, dia makin kuat menyusu. Petanda baik. Mungkin juga disebabkan dia tidak lagi muntah². Bila diangkat terasa badannya memberat. Ibu ini makin menjadi pelupa. I wanted to count her weight during the disharged day but I forgot.
Note:
I only gave her solid recently as prescribed by her paed. Sebelum tu tak pernah sebab I knew that her digestive system was not mature yet. Anything to do with her, I prefer to refer it to her paed. And so far, I've no regret as what they have prescribed were correct. So to those who intended to do something to your preemie, get advices from the paed first.
